Trench System

trench1I hate to admit it, but several years ago I bought a brilliant trench system from Kalistra…and then did nothing with it.

This is a modular system that will easily stretch the width of a four foot table. I want to add some more balsa planking to the duckboards and make it a bit more messy.

So having finally bought a compressor for my airbrush, I feel that I can have a go at painting it up so we can try some plan some storm the trenches games for Bolt Action, Konflikt 47, Dust and Steam Wars.

Dragon Rampant Tir-Na-Bor

Any excuse to show off one of my favourite armies.

My Rackham Dwarf army got another run out with Dragon Rampant recently, as I was setting them up I thought a nice army shot was called for.

A unit of Heavy Riders are the quickest unit in this force, a healthy move of 10″.

The most resilient unit is the Thermo Warriors as Elite Foot with their armour 4, they can certainly soak up some damage for a reduced model count unit.

Twelve Khor Warriors as Heavy Foot with their Wall Of Spears ability are better when charged than charging.

A new unit I tried out were my Forge Guardians as Offensive Heavy Foot, I also stuck my army leader in the unit.

The last of the infantry units are the Boors, the Belicose Foot, Wild Charging and great if they get in range.

The last chap is the Greater Warbeast Giant, I made him Ponderous to remove his Wild Charge, he is much to sensible for forced charging.

The Loft Full Of Lead

It may not look like it, but I had a tidy up in the Loft Full Of Lead.

I have been determined to get rid of some old stuff, but I am a terrible hoarder.

I did make some progress and manged to fill a couple of boxes of crap to go to the skip.

Last week, I even took some boxes of old terrain up to my games club, they have a nice large room to keeping terrain and the old ruins I had would at least get used now and then.

There is still loads more clearing out to do and it will likely take a while yet…

The Hills Are Alive

Not alive perhaps, but resprayed.

I would not like to know how old these hills are, they have been in my collection for a good few decades.

These had originally been a very boring plain goblin green, but that worked as an undercoat for my next spraying session.

I just used a few different greens and had a go at blending some colours, not bad for a first attempt.

I got stuck a few times with the airbrush stopping, not due to clogging, but a mixture screw getting moved accidently, I am still getting the hang of this airbrushing lark…

Airbrushed Quinjet

Now that Easter is well and truly out of the way and life has returned to whatever passes for normal around here, I can start doing fun stuff again.

I have been continuing to try out my new compressor and have been spraying large stuff so I can practice a bit, I have some old hills around here somewhere I can have a go at…

I resprayed the underside and finished the top of my Quinjet, and I am now calling it finished. But as this was bought as a test piece of terrain, I may decide to respray it again sometime.
