Church Interior

I am calling this finished, after many months of design, a lockdown that caused a bit of a delay, a couple of builds and resisting the urge to go back and add opening doors, the church is done!

It works nicely with or without the tower extension.

The interior panels slot into the nave between the windows an can go into any one of a number of positions.

It has all come together really well.

There are even pews…

Spire Roof Building

I made a prototype spire roof a while back. It was a pain to glue together as it was cut mainly to work out the angles and overlap of the 2mm MDF.

I don’t like to waste the prototypes if it is possible to use it in a build. I also wanted to have a go at covering it in card tiles which I did a few weeks ago.

After undercoating the roof black, I then applied a light drybrush of red brick, working it gradually lighter finishing off with a light red on the edges.

As it turned out, this is one of my favourite builds.

Church Detailing

The exterior of the church is done, but I decidd to add more detail to the interior. Now I know it is easier to work on the interior first before putting it all together, but when I started I did not know what I wanted to do…

There is a really nice interior shared by Tin Shed Gamer on the Lead Adventure Forum, more historically accurate than I am aiming for, but fantastic work all the same. This gave me some ideas, especially as he said that the partitions he had made were removable.

I had already previously designed some interior wall panels to cover up the buttress tab slots, but I modified these to include window frames. This also provided some slots between the frames so partitions could be added if required.

The tower sections also get some window frames.

At least I can paint these bits before I glue them into place.

Battlesworn

Without having even played a game of Oathmark yet, I have the second book…

I have a couple of human themed armies in the works, the first being based on my Lannister army, the second on a more varied selection of really old Games Workshop models and not so old Rackham models.

You never know, I may even end up with the third book before I get a game played…

Warcry Terrain

I really like the current batch of fantasy terrain from Games Workshop and now have TWO more sets to finish.

I am going to magnetise the pillars and have just received a good selection of 4mm and 6mm magnets so I can now start drilling loads of holes and making sure I get the polarity right when gluing them in.

Along with the ruins from the original starter set, this will make for a good sized table for multiple game genres.

Tudor House Build

Although the prototype spire roof for my Tudorish buildings was a pain to glue together, I did apply cardboard tiles and it turned out okay.

…so I had to build a house underneath it.

The base colour of the walls is a Homebase Soft Mustard tester pot, which makes a nice yellowish change from the usual white of cream I have been using.

I have also painted the foundation bricks a few different grays to see how that would work.

The needs painting over the black undercoat, I do like the red tile roof so think I will be going with that.

The finished ground floor and first floors have turned out really nice with the Soft Mustard walls!
