More Church Texturing

I have continued adding texture to the outside of the MDF church. I added a few drops of water to the filler to thin it out a bit and so it paints on easier before I then dapple it with an old 1″ brush.

I have to get a couple of new bits cut before I can finish the front, as I have been tweaking the design to add a removeable roof for the porch.

I really do need to stop changing the plans and making last minute modifications to my designs. Jim of Product For Wargamers asked if I was going to add opening doors like I have done to the Tudor buildings, but these doors are arched so it would not be as easy. But I am thinking about it…

Church Wall Texturing

As I continue to pimp the MDF church, I have dappled filler on a couple of tower sections to see how it would look.

The larger section has been undercoated with Homebase Charcoal from a cheap tester pot. I plan to drybrush the hell out of it with a lighter grey and then pick out the window frames.

Tudor Building

The ever growing Tudor town has a new addition, well almost, it is still a prototype, but it is coming along.

It started by just adding arched windows to a square house but then ended up being a whole new design.

I added really wide double doors for a change along with steps as wide as the building itself.

The roof is also an experimental design, although it is more like a Gambrel/Dutch Colonial style.

I finally manged to get some more paint tester pots from Homebase, a few different colours to try out, and I have painted some roof panels an interesting purple and bright red, both of which I like and will be using on future builds.

Spire Roof Test

I have been trying to design a spire roof and it really is not as easy as I had thought.

I have had a test roof cut recently and although it needs work, I did not want to just throw it away and so I glued it together anyway and then added card tiles to see what it would look like.

Once I had glued all the tiles to one side, I let it dry so the edges could be trimmed easily.

There are some edges to add to cover up the cuts and I have to add something to the top to finish it off.
