The Squat Land Train

I went looking for some images of the original Epic Squat Land Train from way back when. I also found a collectors guide which shows all the bits.

I am tempted to get an extra section for the Ramshackle model so some of the steampunk weapons I have coming can be mounted on a trailer.

Land Train Kickstarter

So I said to myself that I would not get into any more Kickstarters for a while. I obviously was not listening and have jumped in to the new Ramshackle Games Land Train Kickstarter. Curtis refers to it as Minimus Squat’s Bounty Hunter Crew, but it makes me think of the old Squat Epic models from who knows how long ago.

This will go great with my StugPugs and reinforce my Prussian Scrunt army coming soon from another Kickstarter.

Olley’s Armies Prussian Scrunts should be arriving well before Christmas.

And then there are the Steampunk heavy weapons and the Titan Forge Zeppelins to add.

Dust Warfare Battle

dustlogoHad a 600 AP per side game of Dust Warfare yesterday, an opportunity to use some of the high points value models that rarely come out. For the Allies, this was the first use of Sergeant Victory. At 45 AP and the fact that he is a loner, I have not used him before in our usual 300 AP games.

Mr Steinburg of Steinberg Shed Space bought a Zombie and Gorilla horde supported by some heavy armour to attack the Allied airfield.

It was going to be a big game!

dustgame1

I also had the chance to field some newly painted units, the Honey, armed with its twin Phasers, the Six Shooter, armed with its…er…six shooter and a unit of Marines.

dustgame2

Well, the Honey did not last long, one shot from the Konigsluther and he was toast. The Six Shooter did well taking down a couple of light Axis walkers quite quickly.

dustgame3

Axis Zombies and Gorilla units were charging across the battlefield with hero support in the shape of Marcus and Grenadier X. It took huge amounts of Allied firepower to reduce the Axis unit sizes so when the Zombie close combat attacks came against the Allied Punisher, Genadier X was not able to inflict any damage on the massive walking tank.

dustgame4

On the other flank, two waves of Gorillas lead by Marcus tried to assault a very heavily defended Allied position and both waves were defeated.

dustgame5

The Axis did have a long way to go to assault the Allies and the speed of the close combat units effectively left behind their ranged support. Next time the Axis plan will be different…

Karman in Dust Warfare

Dust-AT43
After the release of the UNA and Therian army lists for Dust Warfare, I want to get the Karman ready as soon as possible, so I have started on a army list over at the Dust – AT43 Custom Fan Rules Facebook page.

This is some of the Karman army, a few more trikes and two more Mammoths are not shown, so there is plenty of scope for a Dust Warfare army.
Karman_Army1
As all the Karman are quite large models and heavily armoured, all of the units will be two or three man gorilla units with Damage Resilient ability. As the majority of models are armed twin ZZ guns on at least one arm, I have started with the Axis MG44 Zwei weapon profile but removed the anti-aircraft ability. Just need some feedback on Fakebook.

Old School Capitol Jet Bikes

Capitol
Once more on the Warzone trail, these second edition Great Grey and Purple Shark models were repainted for Secrets Of The Third Reich in American colours.
greatgrey2
The plan was also to use them in a No Limits army…
greatgrey1
…and maybe even Dust by creating some house rules for them…
purpleshark1
Why stop there? Maybe they can be included in an AT-43 UNA force of some description.

Joken’s Capitol

Capitol
Well if this does not encourage me to moving with one of my resurrected Warzone forces, nothing will. Joken has already put together and painted the Capitol model he bought a few weeks ago in Derby and added a couple of AT-43 UNA walkers for good measure. They look really good…
jokenscapitol

Two Purple Sharks with an extra hero type, ten infantry, some Martian Banshees and Big Bob Watts. I will have to decide over the weekend which force to update to face them…

What’s On The Table?

Nearly finished the last of my Dust Allies, consisting of a Phaser armed Honey or Quad-HMG armed Wildfire, a unit of unarmoured Marines and two more British Commando units to make a whole platoon option lead by Action Jackson.
dustwip201014
I liked the look of these odd little steampunk artillery pieces from Tor Gaming so am painting them up for the Imperial steampunk army, I think they can be used as anti-Zeppelin artillery.

And finally, the Ramshackle Stugpugs are finished or nearly finished…I can’t decide if I am going to dirty them up much or leave them nice and clean

Warzone Imperial

Imperial

Perhaps the easiest of my old Warzone forces that I have in the Loft Full Of Lead to convert to Warzone Ressurection will be Imperial Corporation.

For basic foot troopers, there are plenty of Imperial Trenchers and Regulars, although Regulars do not appear to be a unit type yet…and there are no Wolfbanes yet in the rules!

trenchers1I also had a number of light vehicles that were used and I can’t actually remember if these were proxy models or just stuff that I made up.

m38d-lippcSome GW Arbites had their badges removed and were used as a close support shotgun squad, The Sterlings.

sterlings1The same went for some Space Marine Scouts, used as Wolfbane scouts I think, shown below with a light Tank Hunter.

m38d-tankkillerPlenty more to rummage through, including somewhere, a Hurricane Walker. It has been pointed out before that I put its feet on backwards, something that I will have to rectify before it makes another appearance.

Warzone Capitol Infantry

Capitol

Having picked up the rulebook at the recent Derby show, it is great to have Warzone back on the table, one of my favourite games of the late 1990’s and early 2000’s. I am planning to recycle most of my old model models and proxy some new ones in. Although a friend has gone in for the Capitol Corporation, there still may be some internal corporate struggles in our future as possibly two Capitol forces face off…well maybe.

banshees1
I have quite a few of the 1st and 2nd Edition models including these Banshees and Free Marines which I think are old enough to be 1st Edition. These were originally repainted to be used in Secrets Of The Third Reich as part of the Allied force.
capitolmarines1

Every army needs a cool dashing hero and here we have Mitch Hunter.
mitchhunter1

There is plenty more Capitol, including old Orca’s that are tiny compared to the new Prodos models.

Warzone Mishima

As I was sorting through the Loft Full Of Lead looking for Dark Legion models, I found a load of old models from about 1995 to 2000, some First Edition models and some Second Edition models by Target / Heartbreaker.

These are the only two Mishima models I have and I think they were painted for no particular real reason, I think they were going to be part of a character unit of all sorts of different models in No Limits, a sort of mercenary unit.
