Whats On The Table?

When I need a break from painting the rather large transport, I am returning to the excellent Westwind Mechs.

I am still deciding what colours to go for, one will likely be for my British Steampunk force so may be a patriotic red, white and blue. The other may get done in grey.

West Wind Mech Kickstarter

Those lovely people at West Wind have delivered on their Mech Kickstarter, a sizable box arrived containing all manner of goodies.

The three Mechs were the main reason I helped fund the project, but the rest of the stuff is fantastic as well.

Apart from the three Mechs, there are a few robotic Terrier Machine Gun models that sound like they should be for the British, but I may well use them for my Steam Wars Mechanica force…and maybe the British as well…

There are also a bunch of character figures of different styles that will work really well in a variety of games from Rogue Stars and Fist Full Of Kung Fu to Steam Wars.

Finally, there are a couple of small wheel tanks, one for Mr Steinberg and one for me, very nice models. These will work great as light tanks of some description.

Of course what this all does to my painting priorities is yet to be seen, but once they are put together, I will be waiting for a dry day to undercoat.

Panzer Mech Kickstarter

I had been doing a good job of keeping away from Kickstarters until a friend sent me a link this morning for one ending in a few hours…

This is a West Wind Kickstarter for some great Weird War II Mechs and I can’t resist a good Mech, or three.
jotanI like the West Wind SOTR range and these new models will also be usable in Konflict 47, Steam Wars and some of the freebie stretch goals will be great in games like Rogue Stars.

As if cool Mechs are not enough, I like the look of this German ball tank, the Panzerkampfrad.

US Heavy Infantry

With the recent release of Konflikt ’47, I have been sorting through my Secrets Of The Third Reich force to see what will easily slot into the new Konflikt army lists.

The heavy infantry in both games look very similar so can’t see a problem there.

Although Konflikt uses a lot of standard WWII infantry, my armoured Westwind models will look even better. Most of the infantry are armed with a standard rifle and there are BAR and LMG options.

Their gasmasks and chest armour make the models look a bit more suited to the weird war setting.

The various Mechs in my American and German forces should also fall in nicely, but some of my custom models may need some house rules knocked up.

First game planned for Wednesday.
